Hey,

After 99 editions of asking the world to understand women better – for #Edition100, we're celebrating the people willing to keep trying:

The father who slowly learned that his daughter needed his confidence more than his permission – The husband who realized that being a good provider didn't automatically make him a good partner – The brother who grew into someone who questioned why some jokes aren’t funny – The man who became curious about who she is becoming rather than wishing she'd stayed familiar – The man who changed something about himself without requiring a woman to explain, remind, and manage every step of that change.

A horizontal collage of five male characters from film and television, including men in a white shirt, sheriff's uniform, blue shirt, dark winter clothing, and glasses holding a camera.

The ones who keep learning even when they thought they already knew how to love. The men who keep choosing to love women better. 💚

💌 A Love Letter to the Men Who Kept Learning

Dear men,
Nobody arrives in this world knowing how to love another person perfectly. You learn some of it from your parents. Some from the relationships you witness. Some from the things your friends say when nobody else is listening.

And then one day, a woman you love shows you that something you've always considered normal doesn't feel quite the same from where she's standing.

What happens next matters.
Some men defend what they've always known.
Some get curious.
And this letter is for the ones who got curious. 💚

Two side-by-side film stills showing groups of young men sharing happy moments, from gathering around a kitchen table to celebrating together with drinks.

We have a particular affection for men who can admit they've been wrong.
Especially when it takes a little time.
Some of you needed a second conversation. Some needed to sit with an uncomfortable thought. Some had to retire opinions you'd been rather attached to.

But you came back.

Maybe with an apology. Maybe with a better question. Hopefully, with something that actually changed. Because loving someone doesn't mean automatically understanding everything about their experiences. And listening to a woman doesn't mean she's responsible for teaching you everything you don't yet know.

You can do some of that learning yourself.

There's something deeply intimate about a man who remains interested in the woman he loves. Who understands that his wife at 40 might have dreams she didn't have at 25. That his daughter will make choices he wouldn't make. That his sister may remember their childhood differently. That his mother is still a person with wants and worries that have nothing to do with being anybody's mother.

And instead of taking those discoveries personally, he wants to know more.

A four-frame cinematic sequence showing a young man and woman lying beside each other and having an intimate conversation, with subtitles ending in the words, "You centered me."

Sometimes the result is wonderfully ordinary. A conversation where she doesn't have to explain herself three times. A decision made together rather than announced. A home where somebody noticed what needed doing before it became another argument. A man who can hear something difficult about himself and care more about understanding it than winning the conversation.

They're the moments in which love stops relying on what we assume about each other and starts paying attention to who we're actually becoming.

And that's why we're writing to you.
Not because trying deserves a medal.
But because you understood something worth holding on to:

The woman you love is still becoming someone. And so are you. 💚

A collage of four male characters from different films and television shows, capturing expressions of tenderness, uncertainty, thoughtfulness, and warmth.

So here's to the imperfect, thoughtful, evolving men who make relationships between women and men more hopeful.  To the men who let knowing a woman change what they thought they knew.

Here's to the men we have loved, the men who have loved us, and the beautiful possibility that we can all keep getting better at it.

With love,
