Hey,
We spend so much time asking whether we have enough money that we rarely stop to ask what we actually want that money to do. Enough to leave. Enough to rest. Enough to help. Enough to take the risk, buy back some time, or build something that matters to us.
#Edition86 closes The Freedom Fund with its final part: So, What Is All This Freedom For? Because once money gives you more security, the question shifts from How much do I need? to What do I want it to make possible?

Because the point was never just to have more money. It was to have more say in the life that money helps you build.
👉 The Freedom Fund Finale: So, What Is All This Freedom For?
Financial freedom has a different question to answer: Enough, but for what?
Security is only the first layer of freedom. Security tells you what you can survive. Intention asks what you want to make possible.
We become so focused on building a safety net that money remains something we protect ourselves with, rather than something we deliberately use to shape a life. And a Freedom Fund without a destination can easily become another pile of money we are afraid to touch.
So here is a question worth asking: What job do I want my money to do? What do I want my money to do for my life?
✨Maybe its job is to let you choose work you genuinely care about even if it pays less.
✨Maybe it is to pay for help before you are completely exhausted. To make generosity possible without destabilising yourself. To give your family experiences you will remember long after you have paid for them.
✨Maybe it is to buy back a Friday afternoon. Fund the things everyone told you were too impractical. Make you more ambitious or, perhaps, finally ambitious about something other than work.
This is where money becomes deeply personal.
Two women can have exactly the same amount of money and want entirely different things from it. One might want time. Another, mobility. Another, care. Or pleasure, creativity, motherhood, solitude, education, community, risk, rest or power.
None of these is automatically the “right” use of your financial freedom.
The important thing is knowing what yours is.
It is remarkably easy to spend decades chasing a number without ever deciding what that number is supposed to change.
Even the CFPB defines financial well-being as more than income or net worth. It includes security, control and the freedom to make choices that allow you to enjoy your life.
So… give your money a job.
And leave yourself enough room to answer these questions with honestly:
They are the reasons for having a financial plan.
Goal was never to become a woman who accumulated enough money to feel completely safe. Life will never guarantee that. Goal was to create enough room that your circumstances do not get the only vote in who you become.
A Freedom Fund should protect you from the life you do not want. But eventually, it should also help finance the one you do. You built the Freedom Fund so money could stop writing the limits of your life. Now decide what you want to write with it.

🎬 WATCH: The Worst Person in the World
Julie keeps moving through love, work and identity without ever getting a perfectly finished version of herself first. The film is really about the discomfort of choice: once several lives are possible, deciding which one is yours becomes its own kind of freedom.
🎧 LISTEN: “Unwritten” by Natasha Bedingfield
Yes, it is nostalgic. But beneath the pop anthem is a useful reminder: freedom is not the finished life, it is the blank space before it. Money can create room, but what you choose to write into that room is still yours.
💸 TRY: Make One Freedom Purchase
Spend once this week on something that gives you back time, care, rest, learning, connection or possibility. Then ask what you actually bought beyond the thing itself. Sometimes the most meaningful return on money is not ownership. It is a little more room to live.

💡 Her Spotlight
Found her. Loved her. Needed you to see her.
Vicki Robin (@vickirobin) has spent decades asking, “what is money actually for?”
Through Your Money or Your Life, she helped shift financial independence away from endless accumulation and toward something more human: time, energy, choice and intention. Her own life reflects that idea too – using financial security to write, experiment, build community and pursue work that feels meaningful.
What makes Vicki’s perspective stand out is that she does not treat “having enough” as the finish line. She treats it as the beginning of possibilities for her.
